Born In Toronto, Canada, Simryn was a child model in such commercial and print ads as JELL-O, Bombardier and GAP. She received her Undergraduate degree in Montreal where she studied Political Science and pre-law at Université Concordia. After graduating, she lived in London, England for some time to work in music PR for English rock bands. Having two Masters degrees, one from UCLA and another from NYFA, she moved into screenwriting and has been based out of LA, selling projects to Sony and Netflix.

Volunteers in a different country each year. Past experiences include teaching at an orphanage in Kenya; working at a medical centre in Kenya; building homes in Tijuana, Mexico; working in soup kitchens in the Dominican Republic; and organizing food drives and initiatives in her native city of Toronto.
