Biography

  • Aamil Keeyan Khan is an Indian actor, screenwriter, and filmmaker known for his work on some of Hindi cinema's most successful thrillers and dramas.

Raised in Kolkata, Khan discovered his passion for performance at an early age, winning his first Best Actor award at 17 during the Rangotsav Theatre Festival. He later appeared on The Great Indian Laughter Challenge before founding his own theatre group, Nine Point Blank, where financial limitations pushed him to simultaneously write, direct, and perform, laying the foundation for his multi-disciplinary career.

After years of working in theatre, Khan moved to Mumbai in pursuit of filmmaking. During his early years in the industry, he worked across editing, advertising, and content creation, including writing, editing, and directing a commercial featuring Boman Irani.

His breakthrough came as a screenwriter with Runway 34 (2022), in which he also appeared in a cameo role. He followed it with Drishyam 2 (2022), earning an IIFA Award and a Zee Cine Award nomination for Best Screenplay. Khan subsequently wrote Bholaa (2023) and Shaitaan (2024), the latter becoming the highest-grossing Indian horror film of all time.

Before his film career, Khan built a strong reputation in theatre through acclaimed productions such as Samay and Ahlyat, both known for their suspense-driven storytelling.

Alongside writing and acting, Khan is an accomplished mimicry artist and musician who plays the harmonium and piano. His work is often marked by a fascination with suspense, human psychology, and the darker corners of storytelling.
