- Anthony Faria was born on July 2nd, 1993 at Scarborough General Hospital, Ontario. His parents had him at seventeen and raised two children in Scarborough, Toronto. Faria began writing stories as his childhood escape and took his first narrative writing courses during night school as a teen. He was the first in his family to graduate from high school, then attended Sheridan College's Media Arts program where he graduated with honors majoring in screenwriting, directing, and editing.
Faria has since performed stand-up comedy, learned improv at The Second City, and studied the fields of psychology, mythology, and philosophy to understand great storytelling. He has won multiple awards for his teleplays and worked for two years as a distribution project coordinator with his clients HBO, Warner Brothers, MGM, EPIX, and Disney to manage the complex deliveries of their high-profile flagship series to OTT platforms such as Microsoft, Sony, Amazon, Netflix, and Apple.
In 2019, Faria received a Telefilm New Voice Award for his original pilot script, SPACE GIRL LIAR.
In 2020, Faria was named a Magee TV Diverse Screenwriters Award Finalist for his original pilot script, BRAND NEW SPECIES.
In 2022, Faria won the Best Screenplay Under 60 Pages Award at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival for his original pilot script, SCARLEM.
