Amir Pourkian is a writer, poet, and filmmaker born on February 4, 1984 in Ahvaz. He graduated with a BA in Public Relations and Media and began his film career by producing the film "One-Way Street." In 2015, he produced the film "The Sea and the Flying Fish," which won the Best Film Award at the Hamadan International Children's and Youth Film Festival, the Best Film Award at the American Mondance Awards, and the Best Film Award at the Moscow Critics' Awards.

Amir Pourkian, born on February 4, 1984 (15 Bahman 1362) in Ahvaz, Iran, is a renowned filmmaker and writer with a bachelor's degree in Media Studies. He began his professional career as a producer, working on notable films such as The Sea and the Flying Fish, Atousa's Laughter, and Sometimes. His work as a producer earned him several prestigious accolades, including the Moscow Film Festival Award, the Best Film Award for Children and Young Adults in Iran, and the Best Film Award at the Moondance International Film Festival in the United States.

Pourkian made his directorial debut with the feature film Nakook, which received critical acclaim and was warmly welcomed at international festivals, including the Durban International Film Festival in South Africa and a Russian film festival.

However, due to censorship and the banning of some of his films, Pourkian took a step back from cinema and redirected his focus to creating groundbreaking series for Iranian home entertainment platforms. His series Forbidden (Mamnooe) became the first officially banned series in Iran's home entertainment industry, challenging censorship boundaries and redefining content limitations in the country.

After a five-year hiatus, Pourkian returned with Ghorbat , a politically charged drama series. Initially censored and banned by security authorities, the series was later cleared for public release under strict conditions, without the right to any promotional activities. This marked another pivotal moment in his career.

In addition to his cinematic accomplishments, Pourkian is a poet with two unpublished poetry collections that remain unauthorized for publication in Iran. He is also deeply involved in his projects' post-production, editing most of his films himself.
