Oliviana Marie
Oliviana Marie is a composer, conductor, lyricist, librettist, trumpeter, pianist, singer, dancer, actress, and Summa Cum Laude graduate of USC’s Thornton School of Music. Oliviana is the youngest winner of The ASCAP Foundation Sammy Cahn Award (past winners include John Mayer and Cinco Paul) and is proud to be the first woman composer commissioned by San Diego’s Camarada Ensemble, writing The Elements for their 30th Anniversary. She is a four-time Marvin Hamlisch International Music Award nominee in jazz, R&B, contemporary pop and classical composition, winning for best R&B song, presented by the late Clive Davis.

A proud member of ASMAC (American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers), Oliviana is the only composer to ever win two awards in the same year for ASMAC’s Composition Competition (The Ray Charles Vocal Arranging Award and The Bill Conti Big Band Arranging Award). She proudly serves as the youngest member on the ASMAC Board of Directors and is the chair of ASMAC’s Emerging Professionals Committee.

Oliviana’s written four award-winning musicals! Her first musical The Middle of Nowhere was mentored by the legendary Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) and presented at The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. Her most recent musical, CORONA’S CABARET: An Act of Destruction, where Oliviana played the Coronavirus as a nightclub singer, was the winner of PLAYBILL’S Virtual Theatre Festival and the Foundation for New American Musicals’ SHOWSEARCH Competition.

Recently, she has made the leap from stage to screen and found a new love for scoring and songwriting for films, honing her craft as part of the LA Film Conducting Intensive. She’s scored dozens of short films including Are We Dead Yet? (AFI), Sundown (USC) and Spin the Bottle (LA Film School).

The proud daughter of a vocal coach, Oliviana is a strong sight-singer, with a wide range. A Cabaret & Performance Fellow at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center, Oliviana enjoys writing specialty numbers for cabaret and will happily write you any kind of song you want for your act! Having the honor of winning the 1st Place Vocal Prize in the Glenn Miller Orchestra Scholarship Competition, she has performed with the Glenn Miller Orchestra on multiple occasions and now serves as Program Director of the Scholarship Competition. She enjoys voice-over work and has recorded for a Canadian Women’s Cup Coca-Cola commercial, SeaWorld Aquatica (in both English and Spanish), and even sang in Russian for a Japanese horror film, Kami-Sama No lu Toori.

An accomplished conductor, Oliviana assisted Maestro Gustavo Dudamel and director Alberto Arvelo on the LA Phil/Deaf West production of Beethoven’s Fidelio, as well as the San Diego Symphony’s production of Antonio Estévez’s Cantata Criolla under the baton of Rafael Payare. Fluent in Spanish, Oliviana made her international conducting debut, with Memento Mori, composed for and premiered by the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Costa Rica.
