Biography

Lance Valentine Butler was born and raised in Los Angeles and began acting professionally at the age of seven. He has trained with Margie Haber Studio, Donna Morong / Aquila Morong Studio, The BGB Studio and John Rosenfeld Studios, and has attended workshops at Second City Hollywood and The Actor’s Gang.

Lance brings a natural comedic instinct, emotional depth, and a thoughtful approach to his performances. He has appeared in numerous commercials, short films, the ABC series "American Housewife," the Netflix series "Alexa & Katie," and the feature film "The Nice Guys," where he worked alongside Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling. Throughout his career, Lance has demonstrated a strong work ethic, professionalism, and a creative maturity beyond his years.

From an early age, Lance has been drawn to storytelling in every medium. Since the age of eight, he has filmed, directed, acted in, and edited his own projects. His passion for technology led him to explore filmmaking, editing, sound, and music production.

In addition to acting, Lance is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and audio engineer. A self-taught guitarist and drummer, he also plays bass, keys, and other instruments. He has independently written, recorded, produced, and released original music, including his album "Living Among The Black Canvas" (2024) and EP "There’s A Light" (2025). His work as a musician reflects a wide range of influences, from classic rock and jazz to contemporary sounds, combining a focus on songwriting, arrangement, recording, and sonic storytelling. Lance is also a member of the musical project Butler Wallace, continuing to expand his work as a collaborative artist. He continues to pursue creative work across acting, music, and production, bringing a versatile skill set and lifelong passion for storytelling to every project.
