  • Daniel Jones trained at Rose Bruford College from 1964 to 1967 and then studied with Jacques Lecoq in Paris for one year. He worked in repertory theatre playing such roles as Mason in Journeys End, Uncle Sam in The Homecoming and Harold in Boys in the Band. He also did some film and television in the late sixties and early seventies. He then went into teaching. He returned to acting in 2013 working under the name Daniel Johns and has done mainly film work. However, he recently played Nagg in Endgame on stage in Kingston and the film Six Rounds in which he played George was selected for showing at the East London Film festival 2016.

In the summer of 1968, with Greta Stevens and Mark Furneaux, he did a two-week course with Ladislav Fialka in Prague. His first job was at Manchester Library theatre where he was director of mime for Hansel and Gretel. He worked in repertory theatre playing such roles as Mason in Journeys End, Uncle Sam in The Homecoming and Harold in Boys in the Band, and he toured with Prospect Productions in The Birdwatcher. He also worked in film and television in the late sixties and early seventies. He then went into teaching and taught English as a Foreign Language in Cairo, Damascus and finally at Yeditepe University in Istanbul. Stimulated by his academic study at Rose Bruford e acquired, by part-time study, a BA degree in Arabic, a BA Hons degree in Literature and an MA in Applied Linguistics. He returned to acting in 2013 working under the name Daniel Johns and did mainly film work. However, in 2017 he played Nagg in Endgame on stage in Kingston and the film Six Rounds in which he played George was selected for showing at the East London Film festival in 2016. In November 2021 he received a best performance award at the Under Five Minute Film Festival for the short film My Love.
