- Tony Carr was born in 1927 in Malta. He is known for Music Room (1970), NDR Jazz Workshops (1958) and Sounds for Saturday (1972). He died on January 2, 2026 in Malta.
- His career began in the bars of Valletta's Strada Stretta and eventually saw him perform with musical giants. His career took off under the shadow of the bombs during World War II, when music served as a welcome respite from the hardships of the time.
- Left Malta in 1952 in search of better opportunities. He moved to London with the ambition of becoming a professional percussionist in which he found difficult at first as he was unable to find work.
