- Justine O., Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cutting Edge Films, is an independent film producer from Taiwan. She holds an MBA in International Health and Management from Aberdeen University, UK, and began her career in healthcare, specializing in palliative care psychiatry in Malawi, Africa and Texas, USA, before transitioning to the film industry in 2008 in Beijing, China. From 2014 to 2020, Justine worked as Producer and personal assistant to renowned auteur Jia Zhang-ke, at the Chinese production company, Xstream Pictures. In 2017, she played a pivotal role in establishing and coordinating the Pingyao International Film Festival. With over 13 years of experience collaborating with esteemed directors, Justine now specializes in debut films by emerging directors, second features, and documentaries. Since 2021, she has been actively involved in international co-productions across countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Algeria, Cambodia, Nepal, Japan, France, Germany and Mainland China. Cutting Edge Films, a Taipei-based editing studio led by Justine O. and veteran editor Matthieu Laclau, has quickly established itself with a diverse slate of high-profile projects, building on its reputation for excellent post-production quality and strong industry connections. In 2024, Cutting Edge Films contributed to five critically acclaimed films at Cannes and two films in Berlinale, including the top Un Certain Regard award winner Black Dog, which also nominated in Gotham Award and Film Independent Spirit Award.
