Elli Tringou

Elli Tringou is a prominent actress who established herself as a significant talent in Greek cinema and television shortly after graduating from the National Theatre of Greece Drama School. She spent her early years in Patras before moving to Athens to pursue her artistic training. Her entrance into the film industry was immediate; while still in her first year of drama school in 2014, she secured a role in the feature film Suntan (2016). Her breakthrough came with the short film 37 Days (2018), for which she received the Best Supporting Actress award from the Hellenic Film Academy and the Best Newcomer award at the Athens International Film Festival. Tringou garnered further international recognition for her work in the branded film From the Start (2017), which won both Gold and Silver Lions at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Her cinematic trajectory continued with the film Motorway 65 (2020), which competed at the Cannes Film Festival in 2019. On television, she achieved widespread national fame through her leading role as Asimina Stamiri in the popular series Wild Bees (2019), followed by the title role in the period drama The Witch (2023). Her career also includes international credits, such as appearances in the British series The Durrells (2016) and the German web series Just Push Abuba (2018). On the theatrical stage, she has collaborated with acclaimed directors like Yannis Economides and Giannis Kakleas, performing in productions ranging from modern Greek drama to classical reinterpretations.
