Biography

Katia Najera is a Los Angeles-based Art Director and Senior Set Designer, and a proud member of IATSE Local 800. She earned her B.S. in Television, Film, and New Media from San Diego State University-where she also wrangled lumber and tools as the scene shop and soundstage supervisor-before moving to Los Angeles for her MFA in Production Design at the American Film Institute. Her AFI thesis film, Tree #3, earned a nomination for Best Comedy at the 39th College Television Awards and took home the Bronze in Narrative Drama at the 2019 Student Academy Awards. Since then, she has designed independent productions, and collaborated on union shows, ranging from Our Flag Means Death, to Jon Watts’s Wolfs, The Accountant 2, and the latest Untitled David Fincher project.
