Biography

Sasha Duncan is a writer/director known for her signature blend of "bubblegum" aesthetic and genre filmmaking. Her short film easybake, a multi-award-winning body horror, including Best Visual Effects at the 2025 Leo Awards, an Honorable Jury Mention at the Overlook Film Festival, and a Best After Dark Film nomination at the Vancouver Short Film Festival, established her voice exploring female friendship and girlhood. She's currently Director of Development at Kickstart Entertainment, and previously co-directed Vancouver, Canada's largest short-film festival. Sasha is in development on her debut feature, Peachy*, a bubblegum horror about the nerd vs. the mean girl, presented at Frontières through the GEMS Genre Lab in 2025 and shortlisted for national film funding. She was born and currently lives in Coast Salish territory in Vancouver, Canada, where she enjoys hikes with her dog, collaging, and wine-tasting alongside her love of storytelling.
