Biography

Inese Tikmane is a visual artist and filmmaker from Riga, Latvia, blending analog and digital imagery to create compelling works. As the founder and owner of the film production company TIK FILMA since 2022, she produces films that explore the boundaries of storytelling and visual art.

Inese holds an MA in Cinematography from the Baltic Film and Media School (Tallinn University) and an MA in Philosophy from the University of Latvia. She is currently honing her craft in dramaturgy at the National Film School (Latvian Academy of Culture).

Passionate about moving images and analog photography, Inese directs, shoots, and hand-processes her own experimental short films in the darkroom. Beyond her personal projects, she collaborates with other directors as an editing director and contributes as a video artist for stage productions.
