Damian Overton

Damian Overton is an Australian writer, director, and producer, celebrated for his emotionally resonant short films that explore themes of identity, connection, and transformation. He grew up in New South Wales and is now based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Overton has a rich independent theatre history that was committed to crafting impactful storytelling. His film journey started later in life and has become his most fulfilling creative path so far. Overton's queer short film Papercut was a breakthrough film project and garnered acclaim, securing selections at the Academy Award qualifying Flickerfest and Cinefest Oz film festivals.
