Biography

Kwon Oh is an award-winning filmmaker with a background in internationally producing and directing films. She was born and raised by her devoted parents in South Korea, only country still in a war truce, where is truly fertile soil for a future storyteller. Growing up with thousands of books, music and Hollywood films, she has always been fascinated by compelling fictional stories, especially the ones that have philosophical metaphors. Behind her videographer career in Seoul, she moved to New York, made her first short film and went to Asian American Film Festival with the film. During Q and A time with the audience, she realized her purpose in filmmaking. The international experience has shaped her unique perspective and directorial style. Korean bone yet American cinematic blood in her vein. She has established a film production, Better To Create in Los Angeles in 2021.

When Kwon Oh flew to NY from Seoul to make HERO, there was no single crew in the production except the director. She met her 1st assistant director, Darian Brenner at 30films under 30 film fest in NY for the first time, convinced her to work for the production of HERO. Starting the preproduction by only two of them, 2 months later they successfully finished the shooting with more than 50 crews and talents together.
