Kaleen Ugai said she would never choose a man over her work due to the fact her relationship in high school as a freshman kept her from the Basketball scholarship she wanted since she had her 20 point game in the 5th grade. She said she would never choose a man nor let cheerleaders or any bullies mess with her again because she was depressed and wanted to die because of the harassment at school because her and her boyfriend were always on and off and she was always crying and could not focus on Basketball and Volleyball. Although she made Varsity as a Sophmore she was supposed to be on Varsity for both Volleyball and Basketball as a Freshman in which she worked for Basketball year round since she was in the 3rd grade but started playing in kindergarten in leagues. She played club Volleyball since 6th grade and Volleyball was also an option for college to play. She was not happy about her decision to have a boyfriend and it ruined the career she worked for her whole life to get her a scholarship for Basketball since she was in Kindergarten. Even though Kaleen Ugai got asked for San Jose City College she chose to go to Paul Mitchell School in San Francisco to become a Beautician. But this high school situation is why she never chose a man over her careers and worked two jobs and sometimes had a third job doing hair too. Dry Bar, Nanny at night after working at Dry Bar, then when she had clients she did their hair either at Hiroshi Hair Design in Beverly Hills or did house calls for clients. Even when Kaleen Ugai worked at Geisha House as a server she still had a few clients to see while trying to make more money serving tables there and other restaurants like Palamino, Robata Jinya, Katsuya and others as while during her careers. How did Kaleen Ugai become an actress? Kaleen Ugai went to acting school and asked her parents if it was okay to act because a uber driver asked her what she wanted to do. Kaleen replied "I want to act but I do not like cameras" coincidentally that uber driver is a actress and asked her if she wanted to come to Beverly Hils Playhouse which is a acting school to audit. The African American actress brought her to the school in the master class and she fell in love with how the director works with the students and it was like therapy to her soul just from auditing. That is when she asked her parents if she could act because she knew she might be out of money and needed help just in case so she could focus on acting. Kaleen’s mother told her father to let her act because her father told her mother to stop designing clothes because her mother was a clothing designer and he wanted her to stay home and take care the kids. Her father let her act and agreed to help if she needed it. After that she called her two sisters and asked them too and they both encouraged her to do so. Then she asked actor Tyler Lepley who was her friend she met at a Maxim party if she should act? She asked Tyler Lepley because he was a actor and was leaving for Oprah’s network and Tyler Perry’s show "The Have and Have Nots" when she met him to film and he got on quickly which is why she was asking him. Tyler Lepley encouraged her to act when she called. Last but not least Kaleen was dating Fred Davis a NFL player in which she thought she was going to marry and asked him if she should act because she didn’t believe she could be a celebrity. Fred Davis was in the NFL and when she called to ask him he encouraged her to act too. Kaleen did not move to Fred Davis to DC to be with him because she chose her career like she promised herself she would. Kaleen finally believed in herself to try and overcome her fear of cameras. She signed up for Beverly Hills Playhouse, then got into Trio talent agency and booked a non union commercial quickly after taking some classes. From then on Kaleen Ugai kept on pursuing her acting career and booked nonunion work. She eventually changed agents. Kaleen and Fred Davis were on and off and when she first met Fred Davis he told her she would want to move to DC. Kaleen remembers how she chose a boy over her basketball career she worked for her whole life in high school over it and she did not choose Fred Davis first, she chose her Acting career which eventually lead to Producing, Acting, Casting, and Hairstyling on set which was with the Amazon Prime Series Chosen Kin. She went to Ivana Chubbucks Acting school after Beverly Hills Playhouse because Tyler Lepley went there while she was producing Chosen Kin in which she states in "Chosen Kin" Go Fund me Video she is a Producer. The thing is that projects’ creator Neko Sparks changed her title to Supervising Producer after using her face to ask for the funding. Kaleen had a hard time letting go of the series after 5 years of building it with Neko Sparks but Claire Chubbuck Ivana Chubbucks’ Daughter gave her good advice and let her know she wasn’t being treated fairly. Kaleen left "Chosen Kin"in 2017 after it has been on Amazon Prime in 2015 and 2017 in which she worked immensely hard in building so she could be SAG-AFTRA with the project when it flipped from nonunion to union SAG-AFTRA. She left. Before Kaleen Ugai left "Chosen Kin"while she was producing she told Neko Sparks it had to be SAG-AFTRA because we had SAG-AFTRA members. When Kaleen Ugai Left the Emmy nominated series "Chosen Kin" and Comic-Con original comic book in San Diego, and Tokyo Japan in which she casted 10 people Neko Sparks interviewed and said it was his idea in the Comic-Con interview to make it interracial. But that is completely incorrect because Neko Sparks used Kaleen Ugais’ words she spoke to him to tell him she wanted it to be interracial because that is what she casted. It is still unknown if Neko Sparks the creator casted more people then Kaleen Ugai in the series or if he just let a girl named Emile Tomth take the Casting Producer Credit because Neko Sparks was sleeping with Emile. Kaleen Ugai casted 10 interracial actors and actresses and stated to Neko Sparks that is what she wanted when they even spoke about whether it should be on Hulu or Amazon Prime because those were the offers and they did not go with BET. Kaleen encouraged Neko Sparks to choose what he desired whether is was Hulu or Amazon Prime. Neko Sparks chose Amazon Prime. Even though Kaleen Ugai does not have a Casting Producer Credit on IMDB she is the one who casted the actors and actresses not Emile Tomth who Neko Sparks was sleeping with. This is very scandalous and Claire Chubbuck Ivana Chubbucks’ daughter was right to tell her to leave the project in 2017 because of unfair treatment. Til this day Neko Sparks has not once apologized to Kaleen Ugai for using sex on set to give people titles. Kaleen Ugai would not sleep with him even though he hit on her one time. When "Chosen Kin" became bigger because of Kaleen Ugais’ hard work as a producer even though Neko Sparks Changed her title when it was her face who asked for the money to fund it as a Producer in the Go fund me video stating she is a Producer she still does not have the proper credit on IMDB as a Producer. Neko Sparks grew bigger and forgot about her helping him because he got attention from women and men in film and became more popular from the project so Kaleen Ugai went to find acting coach Ivana Chubbuck to tell her people think I am sleeping with Neko Sparks. Ivana Chubbuck said to her "People think the same thing about me." It made Kaleen Ugai feel better. After that she went to Ivana Chubbuck again because Emile Tomth kept following her around on set and she does not even have a Supervising Producer credit like Kaleen Ugai (even though it was supposed to be a Producer credit) but because Emile Tomth sleeps with Neko Sparks he allowed her to harrass Kaleen Ugai on set so she had to go back to Ivana cause she could not stop crying over the harassment in which Emile Tomth thought she was sleeping with Neko Sparks. Ivana told her to go to her daughter Claire Chubbuck so she did. Even though Neko Sparks took Kaleen Ugais’ words with making it interracial and left her out because she did not sleep with him she is thankful to be able to be SAG-AFTRA in the acting Union still from Chosen Kin. But so it is very clear it was Kaleen Ugais’ idea and statement to make Chosen Kin interracial not Neko Sparks idea in which he said in the Comic-Con interview. Chosen Kin was possible going to be shot in another country which is why Kaleen Ugai had her passport ready as well. It was also Kaleen Ugais’ dream to film in Japan but when Neko Sparks went to Japan for a actress to sign the comic books for "Chosen Kin" , "X-Species" and "The Woods" at comic-con international once the series got on he did not bring Kaleen Ugai even though she is the only Japanese person on the project and built it with him. This was disappointing to her again. Now she understands how women get sexually harassed in film and knows she will never let anyone do that again to her because she wouldn’t sleep with Neko Sparks nor on any set she works on as a producer. Til this day he will not give her the footage nor did he pay her properly at all and paid others but not her. It is very sad how a man like Neko Sparks who is ex-military is interviewing and talking as if he built Chosen Kin without Kaleen Ugai. Kaleen still has not seen her footage or the comic books from "Chosen Kin" or "The Woods" in which she was in from a spin off from "X-Species" she was in and it won Best Horror film at Hollywood Independent Film Festival nor has she gotten justice for him Drawing her as a lesbian in X-Species which was also on Amazon Prime as well in the comic book when she did the project with actress Whitney Hice and Mikel Butler. The actresses Kaleen Ugai casted told Neko Sparks we will not do it if it is lesbian. He agreed but he went behind their backs and did not pay them as well and drew it in the comic with Kaleen Ugais’ hand on Mikel Butlers boob with her neck slit in Kaleen Ugais’ lap in the Comic-Con international comic book. Since then Kaleen Ugai has been writing and doing everything she can to get her projects out but has to deal with the sexual harassment and the embarrassment of her being drawn as a lesbian in which she is not in the country she is originated from, Japan. She did this all to build her career but just some people are just pure evil such as disgusting Neko Sparks who still will not give her footage for Chosen Kin for her acting reel. Kaleen Ugai had an issue with the New York SAG-AFTRA office from an Andrew who did not have her paperwork. She called the Los Angeles Office of SAG-AFTRA and they found her and knew her struggle and encouraged her to join. Kaleen Ugai joined SAG-AFTRA right away with the help of Los Angeles office! Me too movement was for a reason and now she understands what women go through even with a man who runs the SAG-AFTRA office who was very rude but she still does not understand how Los Angeles found her and Andrew who did the paperwork for Chosen Kin did not have her listed in New York SAG-AFTRA office. She is Union in SAG-AFTRA and earned every step of her acting, producing, casting, and hairstyling career in film. She went to solid acting schools and also went o Margie Haber auditioning class. Despite her struggle in Film she is still stuck to her word and chose her career over a man and is now a Celebrity with out the fear of cameras with high spirits and a positive attitude to continue on in her Producing and Acting Career. Kaleen Ugai is a writer now for her own projects in which she will produce soon as well as act in a few. She encourages Love, Hapiness, and respect within each individual and will always do that.
