Ayushi Chhabra is an internationally acclaimed actor, television host, and content producer whose decade-long career spans continents, platforms, and genres. Born in India and raised across Nigeria and South Africa, Ayushi brings a distinctly global perspective to her work-one that has made her a recognizable and trusted presence in both entertainment and broadcast media.

Ayushi made her American television debut in 2020 as the alien character Pel on CBS’s Star Trek: Picard, becoming one of the few South Asian actors to appear in the legendary franchise. Her performance resonated strongly within the Trek community, earning her widespread recognition, global fan engagement, and appearances at fan events and interviews worldwide.

She is also widely known for her work on Netflix’s Resident Evil as Amrita Singh, her role as Lata in the Amazon Prime feature film Love Me Stupid, and her acclaimed theatrical performance as Nisha in Pyar Aur Coffee, staged at the Long Beach Shakespeare Company’s New Works Festival in 2024. Her theater credits also include Radicals, a Hollywood Fringe Festival production in which she combined dramatic performance with traditional Bollywood dance.

In addition to acting, Ayushi has established herself as a prominent television host and entertainment journalist. She began her career as an on-camera news anchor for Africa News Network in South Africa, before becoming a familiar face on Showbiz India, a nationally syndicated entertainment and lifestyle program serving the South Asian diaspora across the United States. In 2024, she further expanded her journalistic footprint as an entertainment correspondent for AVS - Asian Variety Show, where she interviewed leading global creatives including Aziz Ansari, Riz Ahmed, and acclaimed filmmaker Gurinder Chadha.

Trained in Broadcast Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes University, Ayushi consistently balances storytelling across acting, hosting, and producing. She has appeared in over 50 national and international commercials and print campaigns for major global brands including Google, Apple, Toyota, Samsung, Target, Walmart, Emirates, State Farm, and Mattel. In 2024, she appeared on a Times Square billboard as part of a national campaign for American Girl by Mattel, marking a major commercial milestone.

Her dramatic work includes the award-winning short film Unborn, a powerful story addressing female feticide, for which she received Best Leading Performance at the Uptown Women’s Film Festival of New York for her portrayal of Parnita.

Beyond her on-screen work, Ayushi is a vocal advocate for mental health awareness within the South Asian community. In 2023, she and the Showbiz India team were honored with the Changemaker of the Year Award for their impactful efforts in raising awareness, reducing stigma, and fostering dialogue around mental health in diaspora communities.
