Biography

Isidoor Roebers is a Dutch film and television producer and founder of Scenery, an Amsterdam-based production company creating premium documentary films and series for a global audience.

Working at the intersection of cinematic storytelling and cultural relevance, Roebers develops and produces high-end non-fiction projects for major international streamers, broadcasters and distributors. Through Scenery, he produced the Netflix global documentary series Human Playground, executive produced and narrated by Idris Elba, as well as Max Verstappen: Off the Beaten Track, an intimate portrait of the Formula 1 World Champion.

His feature documentary LARA, directed by BAFTA-winner Mags Gavan, tells the extraordinary story of the friendship and reconciliation between the sons of Pablo Escobar and Rodrigo Lara and, amongst several festival selections, won Best Film at the Portobello Film Festival in London. His film Like Tears in Rain explores the legacy of cult actor Rutger Hauer and was awarded Best Documentary at the Beverly Hills Film Festival in Los Angeles, featuring appearances by Mickey Rourke, Whoopi Goldberg and Robert Rodriguez.

Among his recent international collaborations is You Need This, a documentary on consumerism and modern desire developed with Academy Award-winning filmmaker Adam McKay, known for The Big Short, Vice and Don’t Look Up.

In addition to Scenery, Roebers founded SVDOCS, a documentary investment initiative focused on supporting ambitious international non-fiction projects. Scenery operates as a joint venture with the Banijay Group, one of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies.
