Alison Aulakh is a Fearless Actress and Spiritually Sober NYC Christian Comedian Making Subway Rats Smile. She is the CEO of a New York based Comedy Production Company called The Sober Life of Floppy Fish.

She got her start in comedy by doing funny train announcements on the subway and streets of New York. Alison is a Comedy Content Creator and studied improv, acting, and filmmaking at The New School for Drama. She performs improvised stand up in a fish costume, flopping around New York City.

Many ask her, what does it mean to be spiritually sober? She originally came up with the name Sober Floppy Fish because she does not drink, but later in life found a deeper meaning behind the name.

After an encounter with Jesus, where Alison had physical chalk on her hand where Jesus had the nail in his hands on the cross, she then understood what it meant to be a Sober Floppy Fish.

Being spiritually sober meant that Alison would begin her journey towards clean comedy.

So what do Floppy Fish have to do with being spiritually sober? It means that Alison confidently embraces her imperfections. She’s a fish that’s not scared to flop. She’s that fish out of water that keeps on swimming.

If she can make even one person laugh when they’re having a difficult day or inspire someone to be brave, then Alison knows she’s on the right path. Alison Aulakh uses her voice and platform to create universal laughter, peace, joy, and a safe space for acceptance without judgment. She shines her light in a sea of darkness. Her fearlessness, awkwardness, and imperfections on stage make it a memorable experience for all.

Her comedy reminds us that we have more in common than we think and it’s about time we share in love and laughter.

Alison performed at the Tunnel of Oppression event in the East Village, NY, to support the issues of race, identity, and injustice. The film she wrote, produced, directed, and starred in called "The In Between" shines a light on the lack of diversity in theatre for mixed race actors. As someone who is mixed race (half Indian/Pakistani and half Irish/British) with dual citizenship (US / British Citizenship) it’s an issue close to her heart. She has worked in a variety of mediums such as film, TV, commercials, voiceover, music videos, and theatre. She grew up near San Francisco, CA and began acting at the age of five. Alison has worked with many industry professionals in San Francisco such as Craig Slate from American Conservatory Theater, Sara Kliban from International Talent Casting, John Crane from John Crane Films, Henry-Alex Rubin from Smuggler, and Thor Bradwell from Talentworks Agency among others.

She starred in five TV pilots and has appeared in commercials for Burger King, HP, KTVU News, John Muir Hospital, Believe Out Loud, Collective Heath, and Lime Dating App. Alison did voiceover for the video game Hellgate London with EA Games as the lead Young Jessica. She was featured on Chance on Hulu, the Misery Index with the Impractical Jokers on TBS, and has worked as an extra on SNL. She was featured in several Bollywood Feature Films, the movie "Reality TV Movie" and the docudrama "Man Moment Machine" on the History Channel. She has appeared in several Off-off Broadway shows in Times Square, including her lead role as Girl in "Drink and a Drag" at Manhattan Rep., Terry in the "Nighty Nite Show" at the PIT Loft, Shade/Lobster in "Emission" at Producers’ Club Theatres, and Old Lady in "Double Take" at Manhattan Rep. Alison was the only undergraduate to be cast in two productions with the MFA graduating class of 2015. She performed in both The New School for Drama’s MFA New Visions Directing Festival and New Voices Playwriting Festival where she played Girl with Telescope/Hag/Lost Girl/Deformed Girl in "The Skriker," and Party Girl in "Temporal." She also created her own improvised show at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (NYC). Her bookings from The New School for Drama include: The Thief in "The Balcony," Lili in "Women and Wallace," Beyoncé in "Rockstar", and Rebecca in "What I Found in Montana.

Alison booked the Lead in the TV Pilot "Girl Power," and a supporting role in the TV Pilot "Dual Arrangements." She’s worked with TVASIA on the TV show "Samachari News" where she wrote her own comedy sketches, shining a light on cultural appropriation, women’s rights, the Me Too Movement, and cultural identity.

Alison previously attended Marin School of the Arts in California where she graduated with honors in the theatre arts department and graduated with honors and a 4.0 from The New School for Drama in 2017 where she earned her BFA in Dramatic Arts with a concentration in Acting and a Minor in Filmmaking.
