Laila Kazmi is a two-time regional Emmy® Award-winning Pakistani-American television producer and documentary director and editor. Her documentary shorts have aired on PBS television stations, streamed on PBS NewsHour, and aired on Seattle Channel. Her stories have screened at the Portland Film Festival, Women In Film & Television International (WIFTI) Short Film Showcase, Women In Film - Chicago and Seattle, Northwest Film Forum, Seattle Latino Film Festival, and Arab Festival (Seattle). Laila produced and curated two seasons of the independent film series 'Reel NW' and pitched and produced the award-winning digital series 'Borders & Heritage,' streaming on PBS.org. She received a 2019 Northwest Emmy® Award for 'Los Artistas' and 2016 NW Emmy® Award for 'When Music is Medicine." She has been nominated six times. In 2018, Laila co-founded Kazbar Media, an independent video and documentary production company. She has lived in Karachi, Bahrain, Chicago, Seattle, and is now based in California.
