- Stepan Etrych was born on January 24, 1977 in Prague, former Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic). He is a self-taught filmmaker as well as self-taught musician.
Completed his journalism studies on Prague Charles University (2002), some years worked as a movie critic for magazines and newspapers. In 2007, he interviewed later Oscar winners Natalie Portman and Javier Bardem and also made his big dream to come true: with just two friends, he shot his first own short movie called "The Rose Hip Earrings (2007)".
After some years with his rock band, he turned back to the world of cinema and wrote and directed more short films. In 2013, he was awarded for the first time in his life, when Five Worlds (2012) short movie received the Best Editing Award at the "Festival des Jeunes Cinéastes et Publicitaires", France. His films were selected for various films festivals besides other in Czech Republic, Colombia, Argentina, Greece or Mexico.

- Stepan loves the film since childhood: the breaking point for him was the day his father took him to the movie theater to see the original King Kong (1933) masterpiece.
- He is a huge fan of U2. When the band played the 2009 gig in Berlin, Germany, Stepan with his two friends Michal and Cyril in the crowd asked Bono with the paper signs to play a song. Bono saw the signs and let them hit the stage and perform the "Angel of Harlem" with the rest of the band: on guitar, bass and drums.
