Gordy Cassel

Gordy Cassel (they/them) is an NYC-based actor, writer, and filmmaker. After graduating from the University of New Orleans for Film School in 2015, they moved to Chicago, where they soon flourished in improv at Second City, iO, and CIC Theater. They showed off their dramatic range with a breakout leading role as a resilient cancer patient in the feature film "Ginger" (2016), which also garnered them an array of acting awards. It wasn't long before Gordy was making appearances on "Chicago P.D.", "Empire", as Linda Hamilton's daughter in "Easy Does It" (2020), and alongside Lucy Faust in "Donor" (2025). Most recently, they starred as a woman living with the effects of a traumatic brain injury in "West of Greatness", which premiered in 2025 at Geena Davis' Bentonville Film Festival, won the Audience Award at the New Orleans Film Festival, and further cemented Gordy's chameleon-like ability to disappear into any given role. Gordy will be seen next as a mercurial ventriloquist in the 1970s-set horror feature "The Fuzzies" (Tubi).
