Sarai Betsabe

Sarai Betsabé, commonly known as Betsy Borrego, is an Afro-Latina actor and writer born in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico, and was raised moving between Mexico and the United States and grew up immersed in both cultures. She began performing in theater at the age of nine, developing a strong foundation in emotional truth and character exploration. Sarai is known for originating the role of Tess Delirio in Mark Medoff's Parsifal Worthy, a performance that highlighted her theatrical range and depth. In 2018, she transitioned from theater to on-camera acting, bringing her stage training into film and television with a grounded, natural presence. She made her television debut in 2019 on Marvel's Cloak & Dagger, followed by her first on-screen film role in 2020 as Reya in The Lovebirds, marking the start of her professional screen career. She continues to build her work across film and television with a focus on emotionally honest performances and culturally rooted storytelling. Outside of acting, she is an avid reader who loves getting lost in a good book and exploring stories centered on human connection.
