Biography

Antoun Sehnaoui is a Lebanese banker, businessman and movie producer. He is the current Chairman of Société Générale De Banque Au Liban Group (SGBL) and a member of the Board of Directors of the Banks' Association in Lebanon. An avid patron of the arts, he has been the main supporter of the Beirut International Film Festival for many years, and started producing movies in 2013 through Ezekiel Films and Rouge International.

He was one of the associate producers of the critically acclaimed movie "Clouds Of Sils Maria" in 2014 (19 wins and 42 nominations) and recently the producer of Ziad Doueiri's "The Insult", that got an Oscar nomination in the Best Foreign Film category in 2018 as well as a Best Actor win at the Venice Film Festival for Kamel El Bacha.

Born in 1972, Sehnaoui comes from a distinguished line of businessmen and politicians; named after his great-uncle Antoun Sehnaoui, who was named Minister in 1964 and elected Deputy of Beirut many times, Antoun is the son of Nabil Sehnaoui and May Chehab, the great granddaughter of Emir Bachir Chehab II who ruled Mount Lebanon in first half of the 19th century. Antoun grew up in Lebanon during the civil war, and went on to study in the US. In 1997, on his return from the US, where he studied International Finance and Banking at the University of Southern California, he set about realizing his vision of making Lebanon once again the banking, finance, media and tourist hub of the Middle East.
