  • Producer, director & animator G. Scott MacLeod is based in Montreal. He produces animations & documentaries with MacLeod 9 Productions. With support from the National Film Board of Canada’s Filmmaker Assistance Program & Main Film MacLeod directed & scored After the war with Hannelore-A Berliner War Child’s Testimony from 1945 to 1989 (2009). The documentary was screened at Les rendez-vous du cinéma québécois, Berlin’s Arsenal 2 Institut für Film und Videokunst & One World Berlin Film Festival. With funding from Conseil des arts et des lettres Québec, Canada Council for the Arts & NFB ACIC, MacLeod produced, directed & animated 4 short films-The Abenaki- People of the Dawn (2013), The Saga of Murdo MacLeod & his first contact with the Abenaki (2012), The Irishman-Child of the Gael (2014) & The French Canadian (2015). These films were edited together as a feature film The Water of Life (2015) & presented at the Holland Animation Film Festival, Utrecht, The Netherlands, Les rendez-vous du cinéma québécois, Montreal, Canada & featured on Amazon Prime in 2017. He created The Death & Life of Griffintown: 21 Stories (2017) with the NFB. The 21 short films are about a former industrial neighbourhood in Montreal. With support of CALQ, NFB & The St Patrick’s Society of Montreal, he directed a 5 part series, Griffintown: A People's History 1. Indigenous Lands, First Settlers and Irish Immigration (2022), 2. Colonization and Industrialization (2024) and 3. The Depression & War Years (2025) 4. The Post War Years (2026) & 5. Gentrification (2026). MacLeod wrote, produced, directed, animated, The Norse Woman’s Sagas series 1. The Indigo Iona Saga & the Settlement of Iceland (2026) 2. Expedition Greenland (2023) & 3. First Contact (2016). This historic-fiction series is told from a woman's perspective & set in the Viking era.
