Biography

Hugo Sotil was born on May 18, 1949 in Ica, Peru. He was an actor, known for Cholo (1972). He died on December 30, 2024 in Lima, Peru.

Peru reached the final of the continental tournament in 2019, but lost to hosts Brazil 3-1 at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro.

In 1975, he scored the winning goal of a 1-0 triumph over Colombia which handed Peru its second and last Copa America title thus far, therefore ending a 36-year drought.
