Kunal Singh Yadav, a prominent figure in Bhojpuri cinema, has earned the moniker "Amitabh Bachchan of Bhojpuri Cinema" due to his immense influence and dominance in the industry. His striking resemblance to the Bollywood actor Jitendra has also led him to be referred to as the "Jitendra of Bhojpuri Cinema."

Born into a political family, with his father being a senior Congress leader, Yadav's journey into acting was somewhat unexpected. A childhood incident where he was asked to read from a play script and received negative feedback from the director ignited his determination to prove himself.

Yadav's acting debut came in the Hindi film "Kal Hamara Hai" (1980), where he played a Tonga driver. This film's success in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar paved the way for his entry into Bhojpuri cinema. His breakthrough came with "Dharti Maiyaa" (1981), where he portrayed a wayward youth.

Over his four-decade-long career, Yadav has starred in over 250 Bhojpuri films, captivating audiences with his versatile performances. His iconic film "Ganga Kinare Mora Gaon" (1983) ran for 16 months in a Varanasi theater.

Recognizing his significant contributions to the film industry, Yadav was honored with the Rashtrakavi Dinkar Award in 2012 by the then-President of India, Pranab Mukherjee.
