Born in Santa Monica, California, Christopher Sassenrath founded the Neusser Filmstudios with his brother Carl-Philipp Sassenrath in 2004, which he also ran as a GbR with Bernhard Gröhe and his brother from 2010 to 2012 and now again operates as a sole proprietor.
After graduating from high school in 2011, he completed several internships in TV and feature film production, including in the camera, directing and production departments. He has been working as a freelance contract filmmaker since 2009 and can draw on a wide range of experience and provide many well-known references.
After studying business administration in Münster for two semesters in 2012-2013, he was admitted to the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg and began studying film production there in 2013. In addition to his studies, he continued to work as a contract filmmaker under the name "Neusser Filmstudios".
