Biography

  • Corey Wayne Wadden is a Canadian filmmaker and performance artist whose work blends dance, raw emotional storytelling, and contemporary art. Wadden's films explore themes of existentialism, identity, and human connection, often using choreographic visuals to express the emotional and philosophical undercurrents of his stories.

After making his acting debut in 2016 on ABC's Conviction, and appearing in Designated Survivor and The Expanse, Wadden transitioned to filmmaking and performance. His work includes Tabula Rasa (2017), a choreographed video performance symbolizing closure with an ex-lover, and Lockdown (2021), a meditation on isolation during the pandemic. His live performance, How Are You, Really? (2022), invited strangers to share their inner thoughts at the Vancouver Art Gallery, further cementing his reputation for immersive and emotionally raw art. He studied with the Marina Abramovic Institute (MAI) in 2023.

In 2023, Wadden made his music video directorial debut with Too Poor To Live in LA for Delacey and Stay Gold for The Knocks. His work has amassed over 100 million views online, and he was nominated for Best Director and Best Editor at the 2025 Berlin Commercial Awards.

Wadden is developing Unfinished (2026), his debut feature film, the first of its kind to use contemporary dance as its movement language, continuing his exploration of the intersection between art, emotion, and the human experience.
