Frank Rice Jr. is a military veteran and internationally acclaimed director from Chicago, IL, recently named a Top 100 Finalist in the Tyler Perry Dreamers Collective, a recognition that honors bold and visionary storytellers shaping the future of film.

Frank's latest short film, Quietus Of Man, has made a powerful impact on the festival circuit-competing in ten film festivals, earning eight official selections, and winning six prestigious awards, including Best Narrative Short and Best Foreign Short in 2023.

His earlier work, Juncture, captivated audiences at the Golden Harvest Film Festival in Tokyo, earning Best Short Film and Best Drama in 2022. In 2024, he continued pushing creative boundaries with The Tunnel, a haunting short filmed entirely on a mobile device in Japan. It has already won awards for Best Experimental Short Film and Best Fiction Short Film across three international festivals.

Frank's creative journey began in 2010 in the world of music videos, directing projects for Billboard-charting pop artist Miz Mandy and Universal Music Group/JMD Records alumni "Jet Set Go" and "S-Class," among others.

Before filmmaking, Frank served 22 years in the U.S. military, enlisting straight out of high school and rising through the ranks with honor and distinction. His service instilled in him a deep sense of discipline, empathy, and purpose-qualities that now infuse his storytelling.
