Biography

Emanuel Diez was born on February 18, 1989 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since 2013 he has been working as a screenwriter and script doctor for the most relevant production companies in Argentina, Spain and Latin America.

In 2018, he premiered his first play, "¿Qué hacemos con Walter?", which won the ACE Award for Best Comedy and remained on stage for three years.

In 2021 he created and wrote the series "Los Enviados" (Netflix / SkyShowtime), starring Miguel Ángel Silvestre and Luis Gerardo Méndez. The show was honored at the New York Festivals® TV & Film Awards, one of the most prestigious international awards in the industry, earning a Gold for Best Drama and a Silver for Best Screenplay.

At the beginning of 2023, he premiered the motion picture "La Extorsión" (Max), starring Guillermo Francella and produced by Warner Bros. Pictures. In just two weeks, the film became the highest grossing domestic movie of the year.

He is currently working as the head writer and director for the series "El Encargado" (Disney+ / Hulu), starring Guillermo Francella. The show debuted to great acclaim in late 2022 and was nominated for Best Comedy at the International Emmy® Awards. Its fourth season is in production and is set to premiere at the end of 2025.

He is also the author of the series "Coppola: El Representante" (Disney+ / Hulu), produced by The Walt Disney Company, based on the life of Diego Armando Maradona's manager. Starring Juan Minujín, it premiered in early 2024 and received nine nominations from the Argentine Film Critics Association Awards, including Best Miniseries and Best Adapted Screenplay.

The limited series "NADA" (Disney+ / Hulu), directed by Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat and starring Luis Brandoni and Robert De Niro, was released at the end of 2023. It hads its world premiere at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, opening the Culinary Zinema section.
