Shawn Basheer

Shawn's childhood in a secluded Saudi Arabian farming community was barren of entertainment, pushing him to seek solace in the world of film and television. After relocating to the UK, he grappled with feeling like an outsider due to his unique upbringing. Determined to spare others like him from similar challenges and limitations in entering the industry, Shawn founded the "South Asians in Film TV & Arts Collective" (SAFTAC) to empower British South Asian talent. Now based in the US, he thrives as a Writer/Producer for a popular children's YouTube show, passionately dedicated to championing authentic representation and diverse narratives in his work.
