Biography

Therese Lloyd

Mini bio

  • Although born and raised in Virginia, Therese began her acting career in New England. Most recently, she appeared in these indie features: Froth and Bubble, Orson Bean's last film (Cory Santilli, director); Assassin Behind the Glass (on Apple TV; Patrick Jerome, director); Randy's Canvas (on Tubi/Amazon Prime; Sean Michael Beyer, director); S.E.L.L.A.'s Kitchen (on Tubi/Amazon Prime; Ralph Celestin, director); and The Dangerfields (on Tubi/Amazon Prime; Reno Venturi, director). Her stage work includes originating the English-speaking role of "The American" and singing an a cappella solo in Russian with an otherwise all Russian-speaking cast in US-Mbl (US-We) at Arlekin Players Theatre (Igor Golyak, director). In 2021, she joined SAG-AFTRA.

Therese has trained extensively with Boston-area studios, coaches, and casting agencies, including two years studying Meisner and Chekhov techniques with Scott Fielding at Michael Chekhov Actors Studio Boston. She studied film acting with Peter Kelley and Jock MacDonald, supplemental Meisner training and audition prep with Lyralen Kaye, and the Stanislavski method as taught in Russia with Igor Golyak for two years at Arlekin Players Theatre. At ImprovBoston, she completed a year-long, six-level improv comedy curriculum, additional musical-improv classes, and master improv classes with Keith Johnstone, Amy Poehler, Armando Diaz, Shaun Landry, Susan Messing, and Joe Bill.

As a fan of close-harmony singing, Therese wrote, produced, cast, and directed a one-act musical comedy entitled "The Effects of Climate Change," playing "Sarah" in a barbershop quartet of ex-girlfriends. The show ran for five Wednesday evenings at ImprovBoston.
