Lisa Camillo (MA in Int Dev) is an Italian-Australian passionate human rights driven filmmaker, anthropologist, presenter and writer. She's the owner of the film production company Against The Tide Films.

She's the founder and director of Against the Tide Films, a production company that has produced award-winning documentaries and films that have been screened at more than 20 international film festivals worldwide and several cinemas across Australia and the United States.

With expertise in anthropology, international politics, and economics, human rights, criminology, and environmental studies, Lisa is a visionary director who brings a unique cinematic flair to her work. Her extensive technical experience and knowledge of different cameras and software enable her to create visually stunning films that explore complex sociopolitical themes.

Lisa's Master's degree in International Development and rich experience working with Aboriginal communities have given her invaluable cross-cultural knowledge and connections with indigenous communities. As a film consultant, she provides personal consultancy on sets and editing suites, specialising in script consultancy and shooting and post-production support.

Her Australian-Italian heritage influences her distinctive cinematic style, blending European aesthetics with Australian sensibilities. Lisa's films offer a thought-provoking visual experience, challenging audiences to consider the tension between humanity and nature and leaving them with a deeper understanding of complex issues at play.

With her passion for filmmaking and commitment to human rights, Lisa Camillo is a rising star in the world of independent cinema.

She has extensive technical experience with different cameras, such as Canon C300, RED Cameras, BlackMagic, Canons Mac I, II, III, GoPros, different types of stabilisers, Steadicam, Drones, Cine Lens. She shoots drones and from helicopters, boats and motorbikes. In term of software she use Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, Final Draft and Celtx.
