    Biswarup Biswas is an Indian Bengali filmmaker, theatre personality, researcher, scriptwriter, and acting mentor born in Calcutta (now Kolkata) into a Bengali family. He completed his schooling at Ramakrishna Mission Narendrapur and pursued higher studies at Jadavpur University.

    Biswarup Biswas is also known for his research and practice in Abhinaya Darshan Charcha, an intensive exploration of acting philosophy, expression, and performance aesthetics rooted in Indian theatrical traditions. Through this journey, he has mentored and trained many students, several of whom are now well-established actors in the Bengali entertainment industry.

    He regularly conducts acting workshops, film-oriented performance sessions, and pre-shoot actor preparation workshops designed specifically for cinema. His training process focuses on character immersion, psychological detailing, body language, rhythm of dialogue, and emotional graph building before the camera begins rolling. He also conducts personalized acting workshops for aspiring and professional actors.

    His first feature film, Bawal, was released across Bengal in 2015. Thereafter, he began working on his ambitious dream project, Biler Diary, a film that demanded years of dedication and eventually emerged as a critically appreciated and successful work.

    In 2019, he directed Bachha Shoshur, starring Jeet in the lead role. Biswarup Biswas himself appeared in the film in the character of "Himu."
