Amrit Raj Gupta(I)

Amrit Raj Gupta is among India’s leading contemporary directors, known for Gullak (Season 1), Tribhuvan Mishra: CA Topper, and Daldal. Showcasing a wide versatility of genres from slice-of-life family drama to dark comedy and psychological crime thriller, he first gained recognition for his grounded storytelling with Gullak, and later explored darker, genre-driven narratives with Tribhuvan Mishra: CA Topper and Daldal. He began his career in 2013 at TVF, contributing to flagship shows like Permanent Roommates and Pitchers, and went on to serve as Creative Head at The ScreenPatti between 2016 and 2018. He also directed both seasons of Dice Media’s Operation MBBS, chronicling the lives of first-year medical students. Amrit is also among the youngest filmmakers to achieve a theatrical release for his award-winning short film Ayan under the PVR Director’s Rare category in 2014. Known for blending realism with genre storytelling, his work is rooted in character-driven narratives and the emotional complexities of everyday life. He is currently working on his debut theatrical feature film, marking his transition to the big screen.
