Sohrab Kavir - Writer/Director

Sohrab Kavir is an acclaimed British-Iranian writer and director, renowned for his rich tapestry of cinematic achievements. Immigrating to the UK during his formative years, he pursued a passion for filmmaking, securing a BA in Digital Film Production from London Southbank University. This early foundation propelled him towards his groundbreaking documentary, 'Duchenne Boys'. Further honing his skills, he acquired an MA in Filmmaking from the esteemed London Film School. Beyond his craft, Sohrab channeled the personal grief of losing three brothers into powerful advocacy, emerging as a leading voice for Duchenne patients globally. In collaboration with his wife and producer, Nastaran Kavir, their synergistic efforts have produced standout titles like 'Duchenne Boys' (2021), 'Forbidden Birth' (2021), and 'Saman' (2020). With 'Duchenne Boys' as their crowning achievement, anticipation builds for their next venture, 'Roomi', slated for Spring 2024. Sohrab enjoys the warmth of family life in Stroud, England, with Nastaran and their children, Ella and Elia.
