Dominic Martinez

Biography

Dominic Martinez

Mini bio

  • Dominic Martinez is a Los Angeles-based multi-camera director known for bringing cinematic instinct and musical sensibility to live broadcast television. A decade at Univision built the live entertainment foundation that defines his work. He directed performances featuring Pitbull, Reik, and Sebastián Yatra, and helmed some of Spanish-language television’s most iconic shows, including Al Punto with Jorge Ramos, El Gordo y La Flaca, and Primer Impacto. He also directed multiple editions of Teletón USA, the American extension of Don Francisco’s legendary Chilean telethon, including the inaugural U.S. broadcast live from Miami.

Four consecutive Olympic Games. Since Tokyo, Martinez has directed The Olympic Zone at NBC Los Angeles, bringing a distinct visual identity and comedic timing to the network’s Olympic preview format. He has also worked on productions including the Taylor Swift Eras Tour theatrical release and CBS’s A Grammy Salute to 50 Years of Hip Hop. Beyond broadcast, his work has extended to live streaming, bringing the same production instincts that define his television work to emerging digital platforms.

An L.A. Area Emmy-nominated director, Golden Mike Award recipient, and fully bilingual in English and Spanish, Martinez is equally at home in the control room and on the floor of live television’s biggest stages.
