Biography

Majon van der Schot is a freelance performer based in the Netherlands. After graduating from the Fontys Dance Academy in Tilburg as a dance theatre performer she has been working in different dance companies and production houses. Among them choreographers Damien Jalet, Mor Shani, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Connor Schumacher, Ivan Perez and many others. The performative skills from Majon find expression in diverse disciplines: from staged dance pieces to films. During 2012-2015 Majon practiced in working with non-professional groups under the frame of Love-ism study and experienced in working within long term project that holds strong research orientation. Apart from performing in various frames, researching and teaching she is also a model.

At the moment she will be working with performance artist Connor Schumacher in which they analyze spectrums. Aiming for bringing awareness to the bodies we live in and its value and connection to society. Extremes are seen as opposite ends of a line. However, it seems that this line is actually a circle, as opposing extremes always have similar outcomes. We find this in the search for identity, in dogmatic belief, and in vulnerability.
