Richard Stephenson Winter "The Major" (an industry nickname, a hangover from his on/off military non-career as he calls it, and the rank with which he finally retired) An Off West End Award nominated character actor and published author. His "The Towers" novels about a grumpy middle aged Peer of the Realm ( & Veteran) trying to make his way in the world, has been dramatised as a web series on YouTube. He played the eponymous lead in the critically acclaimed UK premier of Tennessee Williams' The Fat Man's Wife at Canal Cafe Theatre in 2014, reprising by invitation at Pentameters Theatre in 2018. His work in the film "Empty Shelf" was recently critically acclaimed, attracting various awards for Best Supporting actor in international film festivals. Richard is also the cousin of Golden Globe, Bafta and Academy Award winning screen writer Simon Beaufoy. Richard spends his time in London when acting and Northumberland when writing. His "day job" is working in mental health as an Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner. He has worked in private practice and for many years was on the bank staff with Kooth. Richard was recently invited to re-commission as an Officer to work with the Army's Cadets, once again as a Major, as Head Of Wellbeing for Northumbria Army Cadet Force.
