Bahargul Basco

Bahargul Basco began her career at an early age as an actress and television host. She has appeared in films including Love Never Dies (2011), Youth Hormones (2013), and Switch (2013). In 2009, she placed 5th among 50,000 contestants in the "Dong Fang TV National Talent Show" competition, where she received the "Public Image Award," "Most Photogenic Celebrity Award," and the title of "World Chinese Ambassador" from the World Chinese Association. In 2010, Bahargul was selected as a spokesperson for the Shanghai World Expo, where she also performed the Expo’s theme song. That same year, she was recognized by one of China’s most widely viewed television programs, the Hunan TV Talk Show Program, as the "Most Popular Female Celebrity of the Year." After building a diverse career in entertainment, Bahargul moved to the United States to pursue her MFA, driven by her passion for telling international stories and refining her craft as an artist and storyteller. Expanding into filmmaking, she became an award-winning short film director with her project Falling in Love in Broken English, continuing her work exploring identity, language, displacement, and human connection through emotionally driven storytelling.
