Marcus Ericsson is a Swedish former 'Formula 1' racing driver, who competes in the 'IndyCar' Series.

Marcus started his racing career at a young age in karting and over time his success led him to single-seater racing. Moving up to the British 'Formula BMW' championship his continued success led to drives in 'Formula 3', 'GP2' and 'GP2 Asia' series.

Test drives in Formula 1' machines in 2013 catapulted Marcus' into a race seat from 2014 with 'Caterham'. A move to 'Sauber F1' in 2015 led to minimal success. His last season in 'Formula 1' was in 2018 and sadly his time to showcase his skills and talent was over.

In 2019, a move to the American open-wheel series 'IndyCar' gave Marcus the chance to shine. He had a win in the world's most prestigious race, the 'Indianapolis 500' in 2022 with 'Chip Ganassi Racing'.

Marcus continues in the 'IndyCar' Series racing for the legendary 'Andretti Global' team and his numerous victories including the 'INDY 500' makes him one of the most successful Swedish racing drivers ever.

Ex-Formula One racing driver, who raced for: Caterham (2014 (16 GPs)), Sauber (2015 (19 GPs)-2016 (21 GPs)-2017 (20 GPs)-2018 (21 GPs). He started 97 Grands Prix and 18 Points. Best ranked in the World Championship: 17th in 2018.

At the 2014 Monaco Grand Prix, Marcus Ericsson wore a special helmet in honor of Swedish driver Ronnie Peterson.

Teammates in Formula One were: Kamui Kobayashi, André Lotterer, Felipe Nasr, Antonio Giovinazzi, Pascal Wehrlein and Charles Leclerc.

Champion: Formula 3 Japanese (2009), Formula BMW UK (2007).

Winner: Indianapolis 500 (2022), Nordic Championship - ICA Junior (2005), Swedish Championship - ICA Junior (2005), MKR Series Sweden - Mini (2003).
