Biography

Sunday Emerson Gullifer is an award-winning filmmaker based in Melbourne, Australia. Her work has screened at leading international festivals including Telluride, Sydney, Melbourne and Cork, earning two Australian Directors' Guild Award nominations, the Lexus Australia Short Film Fellowship, Highly Commended in the Dendy Awards for Australian Short Films at Sydney Film Festival, Best Screenplay at Filmschoolfest Munich, Best Masters Narrative Production at the Victorian College of the Arts, and a Vimeo Staff Pick. In 2020, she was awarded a writing residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris and development funding from Screen New South Wales to write her debut feature, inspired by her acclaimed short film, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow (2017). Originally hailing from a background in theatre, she holds a Master of Film and Television from the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne.
