For the past 10 years, James has worked as a film editor, shaping stories across documentaries, narrative films, and branded content. His experience in post-production has deeply influenced his approach to directing. He understands the rhythm of a scene, the power of visual storytelling, and how every frame contributes to the larger emotional journey. Now, he is shifting his focus toward directing, bringing his keen editorial eye and love for grounded, character-driven narratives to the forefront.

As a queer artist, filmmaking is a deeply personal way for James to explore identity, emotion, and human connection. Inspired by filmmakers like Derek Cianfrance, Claire Denis, and Terrence Malick, he is drawn to raw, immersive storytelling where emotion is felt as much as it is seen. Whether through intimate dramas, poetic visuals, or high-energy sequences, his work captures the complexities of relationships, resilience, and self-discovery.

Through Edits Etc., James aims to foster a creative space where post-production artists can collaborate without the rigid structures of a traditional post house. As he continues to grow both his business and directorial career, he is dedicated to crafting films that are as emotionally gripping as they are visually striking.
