Özlem Günhan is a director recognized for her work on some of Turkey’s leading drama series. She began her career in assistant directing and the camera department, gaining extensive experience across a wide range of productions before establishing herself as a director on major television dramas. She has directed several of Turkey’s most widely recognized television series, including ''Deha'' (The Good & The Bad), ''Bambaşka Biri'' (Another Love), ''O Kız'' (That Girl), ''Son Yaz'' (Last Summer), and ''Maraşlı''. She is known for her character-driven storytelling, sharp direction of performances, solid dramatic structure, and emphasis on visual narrative.
Over the course of her career, Günhan has worked across a diverse spectrum of television productions, ranging from mainstream prime time dramas to more cinematic, character-focused projects. Her directing approach balances narrative depth with visual language while maintaining a strong focus on character and performance.
''Bambaşka Biri'' (Another Love) was awarded Best Series at the Seoul International Drama Awards in 2024. ''Deha'' (The Good & The Bad) won the Best Telenovela Award at the International Emmy Awards "One of the television industry’s highest international honors" and was also named Best Series at the Seoul International Drama Awards in 2025.
Günhan graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Communication, with a degree in Radio, Television and Cinema, and completed her master’s degree in the Department of Cinema at Istanbul University. She continues to develop and direct television and digital platform projects.
