May-Linda Kosumovic is a Canadian-born actress who began acting after returning to Kosovo with her family, later graduating from the Academy of Arts in Prishtina in 2014. A breakthrough came with her leading role in the HBO Europe series Welcome to Utmark, directed by Dagur Kári, which introduced her to a wider audience. In film, she has played leading and supporting roles in projects including Lost Exile by Fisnik Maxville (Locarno Jury Award winner) and A Performance by Dritero Mehmetaj (Best National Film, Dokufest), which she also co-wrote. Her other credits include Sirin (Montenegro’s 2024 Oscar submission), along with a lead role in an upcoming feature by Dren Zherka. Her work has screened at festivals such as Locarno, Karlovy Vary, Sarajevo, San Sebastián, and Tallinn PÖFF. She has also been a resident actress at the National Theatre of Kosovo since 2015, performing leading roles such as Clytemnestra, Annette (God of Carnage), Mother (Mother & Child), Vera (Vernisáz), and Heather in Gideon’s Knot. She also starred in The Best European Show, an international theatre project that toured across Europe in 2024. May-Linda is also a recipient of multiple national and international awards in film and theatre.
