Céline Beran is a Swiss-American actress. She was born in College Station, Texas, to Jan Beran, a professor of mathematics and musician, and Sucharita Ghosh, a research statistician. Her parents are of Czech and Indian descent. Growing up in Zurich, she was raised multilingual in English, German, Swiss German and Bengali, and she is fluent in French and Italian.
She first trained as a ballet dancer at the Tanz Akademie Zürich and Russian Ballet Association (Vaganova), performing at the Youth America Grand Prix Finals in New York and Tanzolymp Berlin. She later graduated from Drama Studio London and the Trinity Laban Conservatory. She also holds a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Zurich.
She is best known for her leading role as Kim in the 2021 Amazon Original series 'Sex, Zimmer, Küche, Bad' and Leyla Güvenç in the 2019 SRF (Swiss Radio & Television) series 'Nr. 47'. Her theater credits include The Seagull, Tender Is the Night, French Without Tears, and lead appearances in Yerma as Yerma, and in TINA - The Tina Turner Musical as Tina Turner, performing at venues such as the Tempodrom Berlin, Wiener Stadthalle, Tonhalle Zurich and the Criterion Theatre in London.
