Yuliya Sherstyuk was born in Omsk, Russia in the 1980s - the end of
communism and the beginning of democratic chaos in the country. In her
younger years she attended a music school in her hometown for violin.
She was part of the school orchestra and has also had many solo
performances. In her teenage years she moved to the United States and
took up guitar. Ever since, she has been playing in various bands,
ranging from punk to groove/funk. Since 2013 she has been involved in
the local music and film scene in Charlotte, North Carolina.
