Maya is a bilingual British-Serbian actress and writer based in London, UK. Born in Belgrade and raised between Serbia and the UK, she comes from a family of actors, directors, and film industry professionals, and was immersed in the arts from a young age.
She trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), and since graduating, has worked across theatre, television, film, and radio.
Maya has a deep passion for classical text and has had the privilege of learning from some of the most influential figures in the field, including Cicely Berry, John Barton, and Gregory Doran. Maya has collaborated with acclaimed television and film directors, including Jon East, Neasa Hardiman, Michael Keillor, and Olly Blackburn. Her ultimate ambition is to build a career in both European and American television.
Driven by a love of storytelling and a desire to create fun, relatable female characters, Maya began writing screenplays. So far, this journey has resulted in a written comedy series and a feature film. It marks an exciting new chapter in her career, inspired by the everyday stories of women.
