Biography

Rasheedah H. Muhammad was born in Buffalo, New York to Jeanette Douglas and Rasheed S. Muhammad Sr. Performing arts has always been a passion of Rasheedah's who made sure, under the direction of her parents, to also perform well academically. She attended high school at Hutchinson Central Technical High School (2009), received her B.A in English: Communications and Public Relations from Daemen College (2014), and studied with acting coach Frank Rossi. The actress made her debut in 2001 as Maria in The O'Connell & Company's musical "The Nuncracker." This performance was the first of many for Rasheedah as it taught her discipline for the arts at a young age. She joined her school's drama club and appeared as Mayor of Munchkin City in the 2003 production of "The Wizard of Oz" and as Lisa Turtle in the 2005 musical "Saved By The Bell" at C.S.A.T. She joined Daemen College's Creative Mind's acting group, appearing as Rose Maxson in the 2011 production of "Fences" a stage play written by August Wilson (1983) and Lady Yellow in the 2012 production of "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow was Enuff" a choreopoem written by Ntozake Shange (1975). In the same year, Rasheedah appeared as Drea in the multi-media soap opera, "Our Time," directed by Buffalo native Sarah Baker, and joined the Alemaedae Theater Productions family, appearing as Kameo Davidson in the stage-play "The Call." She was cast as Tiffany in their film "Skp Trcz" (2014) and as Sierra in the production company's Netflix bound series, Daddy's Girl's Club (2016). She also made an appearance as Tina in the film adaptation of author Deuce King's book "Pure" (2016). Rasheedah stars as Rolanda Taylor in the short film "The Cost" (2017) filmed and produced by DreamN1Productions in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rasheedah's talents do not stop at musicals, films, and stage plays for the actress has worked in various forms of screen work including web series, urban modeling, and music videos. She appeared in One Dream Films' web series "Seriously Unreal Ep. 1" (2013) and their short film, "A Nights Rush" (2012), which screened at the 2014 BronzeLens Film Festival in Atlanta, Georgia. In her final semester at Daemen College, Rasheedah was cast as Misty in the web series "Failed First Dates" (2013) written by Bryan P. Stoyle and produced by NDStudios. In 2015, Rasheedah joined the cast of iRockLive as co-host. This YouTube web series was geared at event highlights, comedic skits, and bite-size news updates. The actress is no stranger to supporting local talent as she has worked with Deep Thinka Records and Struck Down Entertainment on music videos for artist Mad Dukez, appearing in music videos "Sexpionage" (2013) and "Sookie Sookie" (2013). She also appeared in local artist's Big Test "Rick James" (2012) and Enlightenment Entertainment "All Night Long" (2013) and "Rookies" (2015) music videos. This year Rasheedah was recruited as a model for Fleet DJ's International; a worldwide network of artist's, DJ's, models, and radio personalities. Rasheedah is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Kappa Upsilon Zeta Chapter of Buffalo, NY. On her spare time, she enjoys reading African-American literature, traveling, stepping, networking, singing, dancing, and gardening.
